ISOLA PCB / MATERIAL RESEARCH
Find the material.
Understand the construction.
Explore manufacturer references, identify the data you need and prepare a material review with your fabricator.
Explore manufacturer references.
This is a research filter, not a suitability recommendation. Electrical comparisons need construction-specific measurements.

FROM A GRADE NAME TO A SPECIFICATION
Build the selection brief.
01 / Define the application
Record the interface requirements, channel lengths, operating conditions and assembly process. Separate mandatory requirements from preferences.
02 / Collect comparable data
Use construction-specific documents. Record frequency and test method alongside Dk and Df; identify the glass style, resin content and copper profile.
03 / Confirm the construction
Ask the fabricator about available cores, pressed prepreg thicknesses and acceptable substitutions. Capture the agreed stack-up before release.
| Decision | Information to prepare |
|---|---|
| Electrical | Interfaces, impedance targets, routing geometry and the material data used for modelling. |
| Thermal & assembly | Expected operating environment and assembly/rework requirements for review. |
| Mechanical | Board dimensions, finished thickness, hole requirements and copper distribution. |
| Supply & approval | Requested grade, available constructions, substitution rules and sign-off owner. |
COMMON QUESTIONS
Before your next design review
Which material is best for my board?
There is no universal best grade. Use the directory to collect candidates, then evaluate the application and available constructions with your fabricator.
Why are numeric Dk and Df values not ranked here?
Comparing values without test frequency, method and construction can be misleading. Follow the manufacturer reference and collect the conditions needed for a meaningful comparison.
Does a listed grade mean it is in stock?
No. The directory is a research resource. Availability and the intended construction require separate confirmation.
